Rishi Kapoor has died at a Mumbai hospital.

Actor Rishi Kapoor, known for his romantic roles in Bollywood, has died at a Mumbai hospital.

He was 67 years old and had leukemia. His elder brother Randhir Kapoor has confirmed that Rishi Kapoor has died.

Rishi Kapoor belonged to the famous Kapoor family of Bollywood and was the middle son of director Raj Kapoor.

She married the famous heroine of her time, Neto Singh, in 1980 and her son Ranbir Kapoor is also a leading actor in Bollywood at the moment. Apart from Ranbir, Rishi Kapoor also has a daughter Radhima.

Rishi Kapoor was shifted to HN Reliance Hospital. Randhir Kapoor said,"He rushed to a hospital where he was battling cancer and had difficulty breathing,"

Rishi Kapoor returned to India in September 2019 after undergoing treatment in the United States for almost a year. Therefore, he hospitalized twice due to illness.

Rishi Kapoor started his regular career in Bollywood in 1973 with the film 'Bobby' which was a superhit film. Shri 420 and My Name is Joker was his famous films in which he acted as a child actor.

Rishi Kapoor has acted as a hero in Hindi films for almost 20 years and in the 1980s and 1990s he made superhit films like Khar Khel, Karz and Chandni.

Rishi Kapoor had worked with Imran Hashmi in his last film 'The Body' while he had recently announced his new film on social media with Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. The film was a Hindi remake of the Hollywood film The Intern.

'Rishi Kapoor entertained us till the end'

A statement issued by the Kapoor family on Rishi Kapoor's death said, "Our beloved Rishi Kapoor lost the battle with leukemia for two years and passed away this morning. The doctors and medical staff said that they entertained us till the end.

"He was very funny and always cheerful during his treatment on two continents. His focus was on his family, friends, food and movies, and anyone who visited him would be amazed at how bravely he was fighting his illness.

The Kapoor family has also appealed to fans to stay at home due to corona virus and lockdown.

"At this critical juncture, we realize that the world is facing a crisis at the moment. There are restrictions on the movement of people and public gatherings. We urge all his fans to abide by all these rules at this time.

News of Rishi Kapoor's death came the day after Bollywood actor Irfan Khan died of cancer. The news of his death is trending on social media.
